A month or two ago I treated myself to a new tailstock live centre thingy. A short while after i noticed that my skewing was getting a bit rough and chattery. I just put it down to 'one of those days'.
anyway I noticed earlier this week that there was about a mm of play at the MT in the tailstock. So i called Axminster from whence the said item came, just to enquire is there was ever any discrepancy with MT's between manufacturers, or if it was just a case of a worn 'socket' on my tailstock. after a short conversation and trying one two things, the gent i was speaking to, offered to send me a returns envelope, so they could check it out. Which he did. I was half expecting it to be returned with no fault found, but no, three days later a brand new one dropped onto the doormat along with some toolporn!
This one fits as it should, albeit with the need to be tapped into place, and my chattering has disappeared.
Once again some great service from Axminster. =D>
