Turners Near Me????

Hey guys ive not long been turning and just stumbled upon this wonderful forum.
I just wondered if there are any turners local to me that fancy helping me get to grips with it all over a pint or something?

I have turned a few pieces but will have to read a book or two it would seem as I saw another thread on here about not usong a roughing gouge on a bowl which I have been doing and the guy in the video got a nasty cut from it!!!

Welcome to the forum.

You seem to have the right idea. Visit your local club, read as much as you can find. Speak to other turners on this forum for tips and advice.
and finally .....Roughing gouge + bowl turning = Hospital trip

Thanks guys, it really does concern me though that ive actually roughed 10 bowls this way and although had a the occasional catch but it seems it can be a far more serious which ive obviously been extremely lucky with.
