Hello Steve Not sure it's the best price, but I bought mine from Dennis at http://www.tritontools.uk.com/tritonrouters.html Very helpful chap, fast delivery and knows everything there is to know
about Triton routers. He also stocks the Kreg/Triton dedicated insert plate for table use.
I've had the Triton TRA001 in the Kreg insert plate for several months now Steve, touch wood, there's no signs of sagging. Saying that, and I've just remembered as I'm typing,
I did use a couple of these little blocks to get the sides of the plate level with the table http://www.diy.com/departments/bq-white-fixing-block-pack-of-100/241399_BQ.prd
It's been perfect and hasn't needed adjusting since.
I've had a TRA001 for quite a while now, it's in a table and only used in that way. The only thing I would say is that when you use it in a table with the above the table adjuster, make sure that you lock the router off with the clamp before beginning to rout as the router will drop with the vibration of the cut if you do not lock it off.
Locked off before cutting it is great and can be very precise in use.
Hi Ed, what do you mean by lock it off with a clamp? I too have just bought a TRA001 and will almost exclusively be using it in a table. Apologies if it seems to be an obvious solution, in my defence I am a relative noob!
On one of the posts of the router there is a lever clamp which locks off the movement when plunge routing. When used in a table, if you do not lock it off after adjusting the height of the cutter and you are routing anything more than a short piece of wood you will find that over a short period of time the router will vibrate down a little at a time changing the cut that you had painstakingly set up. This will be exaggerated when using long lengths of wood.
If you set the router up for your cut and then use the clamp for its intended use this will not become an issue, if you don't use the clamp after setting up your cut it may well be (guess how I know?).
