Whats the best way to trim a couple of oak veneer doors? Would a standard circular saw make a mess? Would I be better off running a router down them? They're 35mm thick and I've 5 to do. Need to remove a couple of mm on some, to almost the permitted full 10mm on others. They're the big standard oak veneer you are from wickes etc.

Thanks for any tips and guidance.

I'd scribe a knife line first to halt any splinters in the veneer, cut the bulk off with a saw and then finish with a router. clamp on scrap timber to stop tearout from the router too.

A lot of chippies these days use a track saw for trimming doors.

Otherwise as above stanley knife first then cut with skil saw. Keep cut a fraction back from knife mark and clean up by sanding slight arris.
