Hi i am making a redwood door frame with sapele thresh. The redwood is to be painted but not the thresh, what should I treat the sapele with? Thanks

Personally, I use an Osmo WR basecoat first and give it a good soak and let it air out for a day, then go over the end grain with Teknos teknoseal end grain sealer allowing a couple hours for that to dry. After that, I give it a few coats of the Osmo UV protection Oil.

Although you could just put on any old wood preservative like Sikkens or Sadolins.
