Transfering files from iphone 4s ...nightmare!

...my daughter's iphone 4s is chocka with family pics and vids...when I connect via cable to pc its not recognised, yet my similar phone is!!

Any advice please.

If your having problems connection manually, you could back up to iCloud and then you won't lose the pics and videos. You might want to try a few different PC/ Laptops. I've had that a few times, one computer works and another doesn't.

Sometimes there is an option on the phone to make it useable like that?

Have you unlocked it while it is plugged in?

you may need to enable mass storage i think. i was told to do this the other day, but mine was ok, so i never asked how.
