Tortoise table

My Daughter decided she wanted a tortoise table making.

Size 1250 x 625 x 80 mm also to be able to fold in half if needed.

It's made of wood, what's the problem.
Must admit I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I opened the message. I wonder what other furniture people have made for pets, Budgie bed, Chinchilla chair, Cat cabinet ?

I never knew a tortoise could climb a ramp that steep. If the little devils are that agile maybe an exercise wheel is in order?

My parents had a Herman tortoise. It would have climbed out of there and been off in minutes. They are more vigorous than commonly believed ... and this one was self-righting too !

Tortoises can climb very well, a solution is to put a small lip on the side as they cant get the front legs easily over it, they like corners.

also the house, far too close to the edge if they manage to climb up over the lip.

Nice, our dogs, a little bigger than yours, prefer to run towards them, making more noise than the fireworks

Very nice job there. I looked in out of curiosity as well and also wondered if he/she made it up and down the ramp. One solution to escapees could be to have a slatted arch leading into the house. You can see in but no escape?

Thank you all for your comments and input. She doesn't yet have the tortoise,or for that matter neither dose she have the table as it is still sitting in my workshop 120 miles away.

She's been in touch with numerous breeders to find out which one is more suitable than others.

I take on board the suggestion about slatted arch and also putting a lip on the side and will have to give this some thought as to how to do this if it becomes necessary
