Tormek Bench Grinder Mounting Kit

Just a tip for anyone contemplating buying a Tormek bench grinder mounting kit at about £50.

The kit consists of a horizontal base and a universal support arm and a few bits of hardware that you probably already have lying about.

Why not do what I did and just buy a horizontal base for £13.25? You can use the existing universal support arm from your Tormek. The fitting instructions are available on the Tormek website. Why spend more than necessary? Even if you buy an additional support arm you will still save about £10 over the price of the kit.

Oh and it works wonderfully.

I just purchased a horizontal base and use the rest and jigs from my Tormek. Much cheaper than buying the full kit. Works a treat with my 8" Norton 3X stone.
