A first post in some time here.

Today I was offered a single board of cherry for £70. Approximate dimensions are L6m x W30cm x D3cm.
It was hard to tell any other characteristics.

Is this a good deal?

Sounds about right, taking the vat off (assuming your price was inclusive) as there is 1.6 cubic feet that equates to £36:50 a cubic foot.
