Hi, I was thinking of going the north of England show, i have never been a woodworking show before. Bit of a drive, I am looking to buy either a 300 / 350 record power bandsaw. Have actually got a voucher for screwfix for 10% off. But at the shows is there any deals on equipment or can u usually get it any cheaper. Anyone had any good deals on this size machinery? Any examples or deals people have had just to give me an idea would be grateful. Obviously got weigh it up with travel and time etc? Thanks

You might get the odd deal offering a price reduction but more often the offers include bundling accessories or other products.
Sometimes a bit of bartering works. If you get your bandsaw, I would suggest that you resist a deal that includes more blades as you are possibly better off buying quality blades elsewhere.

Do your homework first and be sure about the best online price for the machines.
Good Luck

If you are looking for a Record 350 you could do a lot worse than the one currently being offered for sale by Sammo in our own for sale section. Looks to be in virtually new condition.

If you're going purely to buy a bandsaw then it isn't worth it IMO by the time you've factored in travelling costs and addmittance....However, the show is well worth attending and an enjoyable day out for anyone remotely interested in woodworking, even if it has more than it's share of turning content.

I'm about 1 1/2 hours away and I'll be there on Friday, tickets arrived this morning. I might have to leave my credit card at home :)

The best 'deal' I was offered at the North of England Woodworking Show, was on Sunday afternoon. The guys really didn't want to strip and pack some of the machinery.

Hi

I'll be demonstrating at stand 82, mainly plane fettling, planing, veneering and inlaying and anything else I'm asked about. Please drop round for a chat.

The last day is usually the best time as you can do them a favour and save them from having to take it to pieces and box it up. Several years ago I came away from ali pali with a bandsaw and a happy salesman who was only too happy to give me a lift into my car. It only just fit mind!

Got my tickets and bag ready to be packed with flask and sarnies. Car fuelled up and sat nav programmed - A day off galavanting , yippee :D
