I've always held that dieting and gyms are for people with time to waste, but more recently I have noticed that for every day I spend in the workshop I seem to loose 2lbs of weight.

Without any attempt at dieting, I weighed in at 14st 3lb when I started doing my massive sliding gate... and 13st 5lb at the end of it. I would expect a lot of weight loss due to fluids etc, but the gate's been finished for a few weeks now and the weight hasn't come back on.

I got stuck into a Toybox for the little one last weekend and am down to 13st 3 now.

I can't say I'm surprised that healthy exercise results in weight loss.. but I'm rather surprised it's been so rapid.

Has anyone else noticed the amazing effects of woodworking diet.

That made me laugh Dom

anyhow I've never had that sort of weight loss doing woodwork or DIY

saying that I'm one of those people that can eat as much as I want and my weight never changes from 11 stone

Dom

The celebrities aren't all beautiful chicks you know... I spared you all the shot of Vanessa Phelps passed out drunk and naked under the table saw.

well they do say no porn on the site don't they  :?

i think it is down to the muscles you use. of course strangely muscles are heavier than fat, but i have certainly found that a combination of walking and more hand woodwork has helped reduce my waist, even if not my weight by too much.

paul

I should resort to hand-planing all my rough timber as i never seem to shift an ounce, even during the terrible summer last year when I was building the workshop in the blistering heat.. bah!
