Those who have been to my workshop will never believe this. But I feel like I'm constantly putting things away or finding homes for things. However, it seems to get annihilated within seconds of actual woodworking. Then I'm back to tidying up and putting away. I quite like it to be honest. It's the one thing I can't really cock up!

My ambition is to clean up as i work. The fond hope is that the combination of the dust system currently being installed plus proper racks, tool and material storage will be enough incentive. :)

My temperament is to get so focused on what i'm working on that i often don't think of cleaning up for days, or until i can't work through the mess.

Getting properly equipped is i think a bit part of the game.

There's a definite turning point past which the job becomes so large that it's a definite deterrent to cleaning up. Nothing for it but to soldier on from that until the frustration of trying to work through the mess overtakes this....

I must say...since I got the dust extraction thingy...I like running around the workshop with the 100mm hose sucking up things like shavings and tools....

BUT...when I found out that you don't have a REAL suction system unless you have at least 150mm...well it's the story of my life really...

I mean...who sets these rules....probably someone with a 300mm hose and a smug grin!

I have quite a few shop vacs too and they live under every bench and power tool....

One day I must switch them all on at once and duck....
