My wife has just made two end grain cutting boards from purpleheart and maple for Christmas presents. Before my workshop is turned a lovely shade of pink is there anyone out there with a drum sander who could sand these. They have gone together really nicely and there is probably an absolute maximum of 1/2 a mm to take off each side.
Happy to pay, and as I work for myself can be very flexible on times and location.

Thanks

James

Mods if this is in the wrong section please move, I could not see a better option.

I'm at the western end of the Solent, so twenty or thirty minutes from you, and yes I've got a drum sander.

PM me, happy to help, no charge.

Hi Custard, You so kindly helped me out recently with your drum sander and allowing me to use your tools to finish my chopping boards. I have now found the time to complete these with the food-safe oil of 3 coats - here is the finished product which I would like to share with you. I really appreciate all your help and encouragement, you were so kind and unpatronising to such a beginner and this was very much appreciated too. I am just starting out and have made a couple of things - pictures attached.

Thank you again, wishing you all the best for Christmas and 2018.

Very best wishes, Debi :D

I love the domino candle holders.

The others are good also but that one jumped out at me.

Smashing work! The edge jointing on your breadboards was absolutely impeccable, gap free, tight glue lines, it really doesn't get any better.

=D>

Incidentally, if anyone else in the Hampshire, Dorset, West Sussex areas ever needs a hand with a project then don't hesitate to PM me. I'm not really interested in debating sharpening techniques or this tool versus that, but if you're actually making stuff then I'm happy to help.
