table saw arbour

basically i have just purchased a used table saw and im VERY happy with it a susemihl anspach but it has a strange arbour i never seen before it runs right through the motor and has a thread on the end i believe this is used for accessories maybe a slot mortiser? has anyone got any experience with such a thing? i have tried googling it but no joy it was manufactured between 76-77 and will take blades up to 400mm including stacked dados judging by the length of the main arbour thread thanks in advance

I'd suggest posting some images of the machine. It may give a clearer image in peoples minds about what the machine might be.

i wish haha that is incredible it is a threaded arbour online with the saw arbour same as that so i suppose a jacobs chuck could be used and an x y axis table could be rigged up im starting to think it is for that now i will put pics up today thanks

it looks like a 5/8 thread not very deep though so im not so sure

and 24 tpi so now i kow it cant be seing as i never seen a chuck that size before oh well
