Hello,
I was hoping someone had some advice on where to find some clamp mountable shelf brackets for a project I am working on. Essentially, I am converting my desk into a standing desk, and have done this mostly with stuff from IKEA and a local hardware store. By converting, I guess i really mean adding a couple of floors onto my current desk. So I have added a larger table top mounted on top of the desk with regular shelf brackets connected to this table top with too weak angled metal brackets. This way, I can remove the upper tabletop by just lifting it off, and it stays relatively in place with the shelf brackets fitted around the smaller desk underneath. In addition to this, I have a small shelf mounted to the upper table top with small metal clamp shelf brackets, also from IKEA.
However, as I say, the construction is rather weak between the desk and the table top, and creaks an awful lot. So I was hoping to make it more like the shelf mounted at the top, which fits perfectly. That said, I am using a pair of "Ekby Tore" table top brackets to hold this shelf, but they are too short to use for the table top below. I thought finding a pair of larger ones would be no problem, but the term "clamp", "mountable", "attachable", "shelf bracket", "table top bracket", "table edge bracket" or similar yield very few helpful results from Google. Does anyone here know where I can get a pair of sturdy clamp mounted shelf brackets (like the "Ekby Tore" ones, but around 26-30 cm in height)?
I quite like the option to be able to remove the table top and use the desk underneath sometimes, which is why I'm not just using a pair of table legs between them.
Best regards, Gingah
