I replaced my home made wooden sharpening jig with a more robust storme jig from Axminster which is much better. However one advantage my wooden version had was that I could pencil in lines on the arm to show where I ground each tool, which meant a) hardly removing any material on each grind and b) not having to wait for the grinder to stop before sharpening the next tool.
Dies anyone have a trick for this on their own metal jig? Pencil doesn't seem to take and masking tape is no good because it fouls the movement of the arm in it's housing.
Any suggestions?
