Hi All,

Can any of you let me know where I can buy Stainless Steel pocket hole screws to be used in hardwood (Teak) From what I have read and Stu_2's investigations with Workshop Heaven Kreg don't do them in the fine thread.

They are for an outside garden table i'm currently restoring and having seen the damage caused by mild steel\passivated screws (which I would never have used) I want it to stay immaculate AND be able to take apart if needed.

If not do you know of any alternatives? The outer structure of the table is already Dominoed awaiting screws. The thickness of the wood to be joined is 25mm.

Have used search but the last thread is from 2004.

Cheers,

Jon.

Cheers :)

UK Workshop told us they (Kreg) don't do them. Having said that I need about 30 max but would buy a bag of 50... 1000 at £172 is a few too many ;)

Will have a look through their other items and will email them about a smaller quantity.

If anyone here has or uses lots of these and could sell me 50 please PM me, it would be very much appreciated :)

Jon.

Go to somewhere like A2A4 Fixings - they don't do the square drive washer head screws that exactly match what Kreg supply, but they do several different types of stainless wood screws in either A2 or A4 grade, with csk or pan heads. I would always go for A4 if possible, as you can get a rust-like staining with A2 in especiallly harsh conditions. Kreg screws are over-priced, and from what I have read are only A2, so not really suitable for a marine environment as they claim.
