Stag dining room tables

Did Stag dining room tables have a solid wood top? I ask because a neighbour has asked the missus if I want his to cut up, if not it's going to the tip, I don't want to offend him by saying no because it's vaneer so worthless to me.

I know that a lot of G-plan tops were high grade multiply, with cosmetic solid wood edging and veneer.

Which is a perfectly honest way to make a table, but no good for recycling as timber.

I cut up a Stag chest of drawers. Hardly a solid pIece of wood in it. Not obvious from the outside - they fake it very well.
