Spring clamps

I bought some spring clamps but they are much too stiff for easy use. Does anyone have any recommendations please.

I don't know your clamping requirements but guitar makers use bendy sticks like this;

Something like this?

It's 4" (or 100mm in new money) waste pipe, cut into strips. You can stack them to increase pressure if needed, and use different size pipes for different sized jobs.

Ive found them invaluable particularly with the adjustable jaws, no doubt there will be cheap Chinese copies out there by now.

You might get yourself 20 meters is so of elasticated cord. I found it very useful when building cedar strip canoes, great for holding strips to the frame. With a few minor adjustments can easily perform clamping actions.
