I searched for ideas for supporting a spoon securely. Pinterest offers inspirational images but little substance. I found a suitable size plank shaped it, added the corded foot grip and used 6mm plastic dowels. I work sat on the mule on top of a chair or stool. Using a carving hook soon revealed a problem, the need to access around the bowl part of the spoon. I will be using a longer 2 position cord so that the mule can also be used on my lap. First off the bench, a stirring spoon, limewood, carved, final shaping and sanding with a Kirjes bowl sander, walnut oil finish
