Unfortunately I don’t have the space, but if anyone else would like to save these (and other) workbenches from being ‘up-cycled’ or repurposed into ‘contemporary’ furniture then they are at an auction house in Port Talbot called John Pye (they also seem to be going very cheap with bidding ending tomorrow).

I have absolutely no affiliation, I just hate the thought of these solid old workbenches being painted with chalk paint or whatever by some hipster for a ‘fashionable’ item of interest in their living room!!

I think when this upcycling fad is over, we might look back on it as we now look back on modernising houses in the 70's.
Is Annie Sloan paint the new polystyrene ceiling tile equivalent?
