Hi guys. Making a few drawers and have never used the undermining runners before. I don't have the runners yet and am making the boxes up first. They are the motion double extensions from ironmongery. Any know how much clearance to leave on either side? Is it 12mm? Many thanks

Unsure for that brand, but say for example it was Blum? It depends on the thickness of the sides. There is a chart on their web. May be contact Ironmongary direct.

Normally 12mm for most brands, blum, grass etc, if you have 15mm sides. Hettich can vary.
If you use a 450 runner the box has to be either 440mm deep (front and back cut away) or 455mm just back cut away.

Fitting instruction are on the Ironmongery Direct site - http://docs.ironcdn.co/fittings/746650.jpg, link taken from this page.

Looks like they're the same as Blum; inside of the drawer box = inside carcass width minus 42mm, and typically 12mm clearance at the back of the box.

HTH Pete

Edited to add: Just remembered I used motion runners a few years back - they were OK, but not great. If you can stretch to another 4 or 5 quid a pair, then Blum runners from trade-hinges or manddonline are a much nicer product, FWIW.

If you mean concealed drawer runners, the critical measurement is from edge of carcase to inside edge of drawer side. I find its best to make drawer boxes a tad bigger rather small. Slightly bigger means a bit of slack. A bit small and the box can bind on the runners.
