Machine stopped working yesterday. Stripped down tested NVR - working.
Removed motor. Brushes as new. Wired motor direct to mains, initially started, then stopped.
There appears to be a capacitor on top of the motor. Any clues where I can get one?

Thanks
Trevor

Thats a noise supresion capactor nothing to do with it running.

I recently had to fit a new capacitor to my air filtration system motor, I used radio spares RS, good prompt by return service. Before you touch a capacitor you need to put the metal of an insulated screwdriver across the contacts to short it out, the same applies to the brand-new one when it arrives, you can get a very nasty belt from them if you touch them, sorry if you already knew all that. This has me baffled. If thats a noise suppressor capacitor I dont know where the starter capacitor is located. The wiring comes straight through the stop start switch to the motor. Unit has hardle been used so it seems a pity to ditch it
