The axi one is slightly different, more HP but less add-ons. Anyone give any reasons to choose between the other two?

Hi

Charnwood says it has a more powerful motor - they will price match - delivery is free to selected areas

Regards Mick

Am I reading it right?

Axminster want £800 + another £400 for the sliding carriage and £150 for the extension tables.
Charnwood want £755 for it all!

Sip want £750 for the whole shebang - saw/tables/sliding carriage.

Seems some mighty big differences.

Yes the axi saw looks more like the sip 01332 which would make it reasonable value, but out of my price range if adding on extensions

I would focus on a good basic saw unit, the extras on saws of that price range are usually replaced over time. You can always change the add-ons however you are stuck with the basic saw unit - that should be the decider in my opinion. The slider I can see, but the other toys, not so much.

I've dealt with the guys at poolewood before, they are a decent bunch, drop them a line and see what they can do.

A few members have the full size cabinet saws from them and rate them highly. Looks good and powerful with a nice cast iron top and wings. Plus a proper mitre gauge slot. :)

If you need more info google usa contractor saw ;)
