Anybody prepared to mutilate a half-way decent plane to make a few bob on Ebay selling 'rare and original chisel planes' should have their own front-end cut off with an angle-grinder.....

If you put it like that i might keep it, it’s a shame the other bits are missing

It would be a shame to damage a perfectly good tool. Over here I've often seen them listed with the front broken partially or completely off (and the sellers not even realising there's a bit missing). Hopefully you can pick up a damaged one cheap.

While it's nice to have the depth stop, fence and fence arms, the reason they're often missing is you don't use those accessories most of the time.
