Hi All,

I felled a plum tree last summer and have just go round to sorting it for use.
I have two 5" approx dia lengths of about 3'6"

I've just waxed the ends and have put them in the garage/workshop. I may move them to the greenhouse. I've read that this may bit hot but If I loose some from splitting I'll still have more than if I threw it away.

I'm wondering whether I should be cutting them lengthwise to speed drying.

The problem I have that I don't know what I'm going to use them for at the moment so I don't have any idea what size I may need.

Also what's the drying time for a log, I heard a year per inch does that sound right.

And another question, is laurel any good except resting on?

Cheers

Andy
