For my latest project I decided to try my hand at a ship in a bottle.

Trouble is a 30", 52kg Excalibur won't fit the 500ml Sloe Gin Bottle :)

I made a jig for drilling 0.7mm holes in cocktail sticks by drilling a block of wood from the side and then cutting in with the scroll saw to provide a 'slot' for drilling the hole on my drill press.

The hull was cut with the saw then hollowed out with a wood carving gouge (finally found a use for the Flueroni :) ).

I'll add further picces as I progress...

You do know you can get 70ml Sloe gin don't you?

Of course it will need using up before you can pop a boat into the empty :D

That looks like a very good project Niimus. Nice precision work. More pix as it progresses please.

Like others here, it also occurred to me that it's "only" a question of emptying a bigger bottle (of gin or whatever else you fancy) to make the job a bit easier! Though I guess it would also depend on what was in the new bottle to start with.

:D
