Does anybody know what abrasive grade is equivalent to these pads please - I have not got any and need to substitute?

Rod

Can't help with the grade, but if you want more have you tried your local car factors that sell paint. They're standard items in the refinishing trade.

Mirka make a good one called Mirlon. Their maroon one is 360 grit - I use it a lot

Thanks for the info - I have been using 320 & 400g Abranet as
a temporary solution.

Rod

I'm actually using it on some brass - making some woody tools and have ordered some Scotchbrite from the Bay.
I just wanted to use a substitute whilst waiting for the delivery. The Abranet seems to work but don't know I'd it will achieve the same (dull) finish? Time will tell?
Thanks

Rod

Speaking for ourselves/NyWeb:

Green 400 grit
Red 600 grit
Orange 1000 grit
White: Technically non-abrasive (does not contain Silicon Carbide or Aluminium Oxide) but has a very fine/burnishing cut.

Order of use as above, giving the acronym 'GROW' and an aide memoire.
