These actually look pretty handy, especially the end trimmer ones. Are they as strong as the Knipex piano wire cutters I normally get ?

Hi Ollie, the Flush Cut End Nippers are primarily designed for trimming back iron on edge banding but they are also very good at cutting back brass or copper fret wire. Sorry I have not used the Knipex piano cutters so can't compare. The HD are the strongest designed for heavier work, what they have in common is the flush cutting element.
