Been thinking of making a router table as a project and looking at various plans ... will any router be able to be used for a shop made router table or is it only certain types that can be adapted for use in one?

If you ever plan to make panelled doors which is a great project for a router table, a 1/4" router wont have the grunt or the safety for that job or indeed any job that requires a stable cutter.
