Router Bit Hep Needed

Hi

Need some assistance, I'm looking for a large diameter router bit maybe 2" (1/2 shank) for thicknessing large pieces of hardwood that are too wide for my PT. I currently use a 19mm 4 flute bit but it takes a long time!

Seen the Magnate 2007 in America and their website wont allow UK as a shipping option so looking for something similar - any suggestions???

Know what you mean Dave. Just levelled my main workbench with a 19/20 mm 2 fluter, me back was knackered after it, took ages.
Have you tried any of Magnate's agents in the States rather than the company itself? Or the bay.com?
Haven't had a proper search but here's an 1-3/4" bit:

I've only tried Amazon.com and them directly. I've emailed them asking if they have a UK or european distributer.
That one on ebay looks good enough for me, I'll give it a go

There's an article in the current F&C (p46) about using the router to thickness material. A three winged bottom cutting bit with chamfered or rounded corners is recommended and the one that Pete found (http://www.wealdentool.com/acatalog/Onl ... g_250.html) is the bad boy that'll do the job - Rob

I have one. I like it.

It won't take off enormous amounts of stock, but it will leave a good finish.
