Just been replacing a broken slate on the roof and hit a snag. Used the slate rip to remove the old slate but the slate is next to the rooflight so there are lead soakers under each slate as well. In taking out the old slate the soaker above has come out and not sure how to re-attach it.

Didn't have a camera at the time but taken a picture of the same set up on another window. So the slate and half in the middle of picture and and soaker above came out. Got the new slate back in with a tingle but the soaker is just pushed back home for the time being.

So how do I fix the soaker back on without tearing half the roof apart?

Thanks :D

Just be aware that silicone won't actually stick to slate - it's an acid alkali thing, I think - it just blows the surface of the slate. Another adhesive could be better.

lucky surface.

anyways, it should be bedded on a something, which is what you want to attach the lead to rather than the tile, be better with something like gutter and roof seal instead of silicone too.

I had considered using leadmate sealant but thought this was bad practice but maybe that's just the view of purists?
