Hi all,
Have a Dewalt 733 Type 2 that has a quite ridiculously poorly engineered design for replacing the blades - I can see in more recent models they've improved this, but hey...!
I can't find the alignment gauges for mine - they're not in the usual slot and I can't see any in stock online, eg:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/DeWalt-285980-00-Replacement-Planer-Blade/dp/B00XEL840K
You can see the gauges here in step 12:
https://www.sugartreewoodwerks.com/blog/dewalt-dw733-blade-replacement
Has anyone got any ideas on how I can do this - they appear to be ludicrously priced regardless, so if I can get hold of some, I'll 3d scan them and then can let anyone 3d print their own for 5p a time, rather than the ridiculous £20+ pricing!
How important are these to aid alignment? Is there any other tools I could use?
Thanks in advance!
