Recommendations for software / apps?

I've spent a bit of time with Fusion and Sketchup, and can't say I'm that keen on either of them. Though, I would probably go for Fusion as the free version is an application rather than web-based.

Both are probably complete overkill for my needs, an I'd prefer something a bit simpler, mostly focused on things basic furniture design (workbench, desks, cabinets) cut lists etc.

I'm going to try out Sketchlist 3D, but wondering if anyone has any other recommendations?

I'm happy to pay a monthly sub, but not risking 12 months up front.

I only use a 2D package because it meets all my needs and is easy to use, I don't need 3d modeling as I prefer to spend my time actually doing rather than drawing and using orthogonal views suits my requirements when needed. The package I use is Qcad which is free for the base version and the pro version is not expensive.
