Hi all,

Does anyone have, or has any advice, on a Powecraft ZJ4116 bench drill? Need a bench drill for a small workshop I am setting up in garage and have seen this used one for sale locally. Its going to be used for general woodworking. Specs are:-

230v, rated power 500W S2-30min, capacity (max) metal 16mm, wood 35mm, chuck 1.5 - 16mm, spindle taper 2, Travel 50mm, 9 speeds , speed 280 - 2350 rpm, base plate 315x200mm, table 170x170mm, clearance - spindle / table 237mm, clearance spindle - base plate 330mm, total height 610mm, comes with vice and operating manual.

Any good, if so how much should I be paying, or is it a cheapy which should be steered clear of??????

Thanx,

Doug.

Yes, it's a cheapie, I've had one for a few years, picked it up in Aldi or Lidl for not very much, maybe 50 quid as the other poster says.
It's done me well and still going strong, though it hasn't been stretched as I have a monster floor standing drill for anything big.
It's got a nice quiet motor, speed changes are easy, table is ok, no real issues. I wouldn't pay more than 25 quid if I were you (assuming it runs well).

I sold one the other week for £25.00 not as nice as that one, at the same time one went for just over fifty on ebay, more than the cost of it when new. They were made in Austria. never used one.
