A quick little bowl from some of the Lime I was given a while ago, I rough turned it a couple months ago, it feels very light now so decided to finish turn it to see how it finishes, probably one of the softest woods I've used, it sanded very quickly, it took an abrasive paste finish quite well and the grain is OK but nothing special, probably won't do any more bowls from the it, I have 9 logs that are 9 to 12 inches diameter and around 3 foot in length, will leave them as is for now, it may end up as fire wood though.

A little Hawthorn captive ring goblet I did yesterday, wood was still a bit wet so it did move a little whilst turning, haven't checked it today so no idea if it's still in one piece, decided to do the ring as a square circle because I've not seen it done this way before, treated with a good soak of Danish oil so hopefully it won't have moved a crazy amount

3 medium pot covers turned from silver birch and ready for finish, luckily I done a few hours extra at work last week so I'm going to take them back tomorrow, hoping to get at least 6 more turned so I can get the inside coated with epoxy and finished ready to take them to blackbushe air day on saturday, I've got plenty of succulent plants ready too so now just have to work out pricing 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪

These look good, I keep meaning to try turning one myself as a very very late mothers day gift 🤦‍♂️

They're really quick and easy to do, I coat the inside of mine with 5minute epoxy.
Used up some time owed and spent the whole day in the makerspace and achieved my goal of getting all the pot covers done, managed to get 6 more medium ones turned this morning, after lunch I coated with epoxy then back for an hours work to lock up before coming back to the makerspace and putting a coat of Danish oil on them, 3 Oak, 3 Silver Birch and 3 Olive Ash, really happy with them. (It seems that since I posted on my instagram about doing these pot covers a few YouTube have suddenly come out with cactus/succulent pots 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔)
