Polishing Brass Using A Dremel

New to polishing brass with a Dremel. Those who have done this your advice needed.

a) What type of material on the bit to use for best results? Wool? Felt? Cotton?
b) Apparently there are different types of compound to use on the buffing bit-which one to use? Does compound come like abrasive paper--in grits?
c) Some compound better than other's?
d) Does the colour of the compound make a difference? Which manufacturer of compound is considered the best?

Anything else I need to know about polishing? Your thoughts welcome.
