Plunge or cross cutting

I need to cut large holes in sheets of ply (for windows), I have a Mafell KSS40, is there any advantage in using a plunge saw such as the Mafell MT5518MBL?

Looks like it does plunging very nicely as you would expect from Mafell. Of course there's no reason why you shouldn't buy more Mafell stuff if you want.

Ditto, looks like the KSS40 is capable of doing plunge cuts? Otherwise my go to for cutting a hole in ply would be a jigsaw.

If the holes required are very large then rather than cut the holes out of a sheet of ply frame round the windows instead which can minimise wastage.
