Cruncher, photos need to be sharper, for one, they don't do the piece justice and two, it is difficult to pass meaningful comments.
Details of dimensions and wood type would give a better indication of turning/finishing standards to other turners as well.
You seem to be embarking on some awkward shapes for starters, not the easiest way to learn tool control, a brownie point (or should that be 'cub point' in todays PC times?) for not being intimidated by the tasks.
I like it very much.
Try a five sided one, it has a very nifty shape.
In fact it is like when you choose a bunch of flowers, you always pick an odd number. :wink:
