After weighing up the market for a decent old woodworking vice, I've managed to get my hands on a Parkinson's Nr.15 a couple of weeks ago. I've stripped the vice down completely and have thoroughly de-rusted and cleaned the parts ready for rebuild. It seems to be in reasonable fettle apart from the quick release requiring attention (which I knew about prior to buying). The problem is that the QR spring has been deformed and lost lost it's tension. Ideally I'd like to find a replacement spring if possible. Does anyone know of any springmakers who have past experience of making a replacement parts for Parkinson vices at all?
