Painting over melamine faced chipboard

Not really woodwork except it is in my case. I have to paint some MFC to match some painted woodwork. I am assuming that I will need to sand the surface well, but does anybody happen to know of a specific product that would be a good primer?

You can buy specific melamine primer. Should just be available in your local paint store /warehouse.
