Just bought an old Sedgwick morticer. But we're having problems finding the right chisels and mortice bits. This is because the auger bit needs to have a shank of 5" long; (with 1/4"shank). It doesn't look like the machine has been modified. Anyone else have this problem or know where to source them :?:

Good choice of Morticer.
Is this the pre chuck version you have bought ? if so do you have all the different size collets for this morticer (i take it you've bought a 571) to take all the different sized chisels & bits ?.

Try Axminster tools or have a look at the Draper Expert range they do all the sizes to fit this machine from 1/8th right up to 1" inch
