Hi Everyone
Has anyone ever heard of a finishing product called Duraxalin?
It is/was applied as a finish by the same method as French polishing, but without adding oil during the process.
It is considerably more resistant to heat and sweat, even alcohol, than traditional shellac. It can also be brushed on and cut back with Glossoid, which I believe to be a burnishing cream that was used in the old days.
I got the info on Duraxalin, in a old (early 50s) finishing book, so I am not sure that it exists anymore. I would be interested to know if anyone has any info, or what it has evolved into at present.
Thanks
