I assume it is safe to do so, but just wanted to check as I have located a 2nd hand LPG combi boiler that I want to get installed in my garage and will only use it for heating and the hot water side of things is not required

I agree totally, but I don't have a way of getting rid of the waste water, and I doubt building control would allow me to drain the waste water into a soak away.
