Probably more to this story behind the scenes. Its only been a week and volumes of water could be had from a stand pipe ( see local water board) from the local Fire Brigade, from other businesses. If the issue is just the odd parking comments then going elsewhere for water seems obvious.

Just one week to go from asking to moving away seems very abrupt.

Hi

I was in Whiby about three weeks ago, I knew nothing about the steam bus so when I saw it chugging up the hill it was a fantastic surprise. I'm not old enough to have experienced these things working but it did bring on a wave of nostalgia and a feeling of well being that the past was being kept alive for the benefit of those to follow - sadly, it seems, not for much longer :(

Rather sad that I didn't make time to ride it now - now I won't get the chance :(

Councils throughout the country should be required to preserve our heritage rather than neuter cities and towns by filling them with chain stores.

Regards Mick

Agreed. It sounds if they can't do exactly what they want, they cry obstruction. 5 local businesses have offered to help, but they've said no.

I think they'd rather have the status of "martyrs to officialdom" than actually run the bus.

Edit; I'm not sure how long it's been running, but it ain't exactly a grand old tradition. From the story they "purchased Elizabeth 12 years ago" and "It took years of restoration work".
