Well ok, it is a bit. But it is not, and let me clear about this, a post where anyone is allowed to argue or disparage different sharpening methods, on pain of severe Moderator displeasure (hammer) (hammer) (hammer)

With that caveat, the below is a link to a PDF document hosted by Lost Art Press (Chris Schwarz's publishing company) which is a comparative chart of different sharpening media and how they compare to micron sizes. I have never managed to understand the different terminology, so I think I will find this very helpful and hope that some of you will too. If not, no problem, nothing to see here and certainly nothing to argue about. I hope.

Mult - a rare material only found on the northern slopes of the Himalayas and prized for its ability to give perfectly formed bevels every time. Believed to be formed from the fossilised remains of sawdust and Yak dung left on the workshop floors of ancient Nepalese carpenters.

Very wise including that note: we wouldn't want anybody getting in a strop.........

\:D/ I suppose that you could keep everybody happy by starting at the Top Left corner and working across and down to

the Bottom Right corner, although it would be touch and go whether you had any blade left by then!https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/posting.php?mode=smilies&f=1#

0.5 - 0.3 microns it seems is what I get using my leather strop for the final sharpening. Sounds good to me!
