I have a Camvac GV386-2 Twin Motor 2 1/2 " outlet - dust extractor, approx 3 years old and it has had light DIY use only,
it can be connected to a router table, bandsaw or makita thicknesser, through a Thein type cyclone - so very little dust gets into the Camvac.
The exhausts are extracted through a length of hose into the garage roof.
Recently - one of the motors started making a screaming noise, so a few months ago I replaced the motor with a new motor from Camvac,
When the unit has been switched on for a short time - 5/10 minutes - the new motor is making exactly the same noise !!!
The other motor is fine -
I have replaced all the filter bags, etc,
I have tried it with the exhausts not-extracted,
but it is still making the screaming noise -
Camvac support have not been very helpful - their response was that on a new motor the brushes sometimes need to bed in.
but this wouldn't have have been the problem with the original motor. ?
I can use the unit with only one motor running - but that sort of defeats the object of having two motors.
and I don't really want to splash out on a different extractor.
Anybody else had a similar problem ?
