hi guys i am looking to buy a new pannel saw and sindle moulder i was looking at the startrite and axminster pannel saws and wonderd if any body had any opinions on these tools and the spindle moulder was either the startrite or trend spindle moulders i need a tennoning table so whats your views guys cheers for now james

I know neither startrite nor trend spindle moulders but if you have room enough the secondhand market is full used industrial spindle moulders for good prizes. The often go for between 300 and 1000 euros so I see no need to spend more money for a hobby machine if there is room enough for the real thing. They generally have a large and very rigid table which provides plenty of space for a bolt-on tennoning table that is held with two bolts and removed when not needed. Newer spindle moulders may have a built in sliding table but those machines are generally expensive secondhand so if you want that feature you will end up with a small one like startrite or trend or some equivalent.

Just my uneducated thoughts........ coming from the situation in my shop where all stationary machines are made before 1980....... Big old cast iron monsters awakened from their graves and refurbished and pressed into use........

Trend and Startrite spindle moulders are exellent industrial machines costing several thousands of pounds. If i had the budget id go for the trend with their window tooling system. i think theres a video demo on youtube somewhere.

Excuse me. My knowledge was't really up to date. Professional machines I have been around have been made by companies like L'invincible and Bäuerle and Jonsered and Stenberg and Manko and Wadkin and the like........... another era apparently but very good machinery still today.
