Hello all,

I'm the proud new owner of an Inca 342.186.01 bandsaw.

Got it home on Friday and over the weekend, brushed the dust off and had a good look.

It's in need of a little tlc so here goes.

It's the type with the motor mounted under the table.
It came on a heavy metal table, with an old single phase motor.
I haven't plugged the motor in as yet, but the guy I purchased it from said it worked.
The motor also has a clutch? Good, bad?

I'm tempted to buy a new motor, or am I tempted wrongly?
I see from the manual online that Inca recommend a motor of at least 1 1/2 hp.
I've no idea what that one is, although it's probably in that region.

I plan on making a smaller footprint base on castors, as I need it to be moveable.
Another reason for a shiny new motor?

The tyres seem quite hard and there's hairline cracks so do I order from eBay,
or scavenged inner tube as good?

At some point the blade has run half off the upper wheel and chopped its
its way around the inside of the plastic side cover.

The guide post is very hard to move. Almost seized but there's some movement there.
I assume it's a case of stripping down and corrosion removal?

I'm obviously going to need a couple of blades.
I'm reading up on those but if anyone had any suggestions, please let me know.

Ok at this point as I'm an early riser for work (grrr), I'm heading towards my bed.

Look forward to hearing her singing!
With your help of course.

The Incas are small but excellent quality. The blades guides were steel originally but they look like they have been replaced. They could be Cool Blocks. Excellent if they are.
Get your blades from TuffSaws, none better.
Can't help on the clutch, but that scoring on the cover is just due to poor set up, it's not a problem with the saw itself.
