Good afternoon all (or whatever your time zone is). 56 yo from North Island NZ with a good knowledge of most things wood glue (MSc) and have enough machines and tools to do some moderate damage

Hi Rod
It's a good few years since we were on the North Island and Taihape is actually the furthest south we managed to get. Drove across the scenic road from Napier and only had a couple of hours in Taihape before heading north to Taupo. We managed a lot of the usual tourist locations and as far up as The Bay of Islands.
I remember some lovely old buildings where there was some filming going on, looked like a living dead kind of thing. The wellie boot is unique if a bit weird made out of rusty old roofing sheets.
We found New Zealand folk absolutely lovely on both islands though our relatives in OZ don't quite see it that way.
